At the University of Galway, Service-Learning training and community partnerships with migrants is being carried out through two structured modules. These modules are ‘Intercultural Encounters'(from 8th of September to 5th of October) and ‘Children in Social Contexts’ (from 2nd to 9th October).

On 25th and 28th September two meetings will take place for students at the Università degli studi di Verona of the course “Processes of inclusion and integration supporting students with a migrant background” within the “Transversal Competences” project, aimed at male and female students enrolled in each degree programme.

This training in the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Mobilising university-community resources through SL(M) for the inclusion of migrants/refugees” [2022-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000087650] is for undergrate students in Service-Learning in the field of migration and refugee issues. It is free of charge and is recognised for 6 hours by the SEPIU (University Participation and Inclusion Service) of the USC.

Programme:

Session 1: Analysis of the social needs of migrants/refugees (ACCEM) = 4 hours

4th October – From 10:00 to 14:00 – Faculty of Education Sciences (Vida Campus)
4th October – From 16:30 to 20:30 –  Faculty of Education Sciences (North Campus)

Session 2: Introduction to the Service Learning methodology (Javier Agrafojo and Alexandre Sotelino) = 2 hours

2 October – From 16:30 to 18:30 – Fac. CC. of Education (Vida Campus)
5 October – From 10:00 to 12:00 – Fac. CC. of Education (North Campus )
